WINDWARD WINS AGAIN! The American Sailing Association awarded Windward Sailing OUTSTANDING SCHOOL OF THE YEAR!

Windward Sailing School has consistently ranked in the top five sailing schools nationwide, year after year. We have built upon our long-standing tradition of excellence by adding more instruction options, discounts and total flexibility in scheduling. In addition to ourAmelia Island location, we offer on-the-water instruction in the Greater Jacksonville area. Our Ortega River location is just minutes away from Jacksonville Landing, and offers a wide range of services for both new and experienced sailors.

Courses are taught by American Sailing Association Certified Instructors. Class size is limited to 8 people in the classroom—4 people per boat.

If any currently scheduled courses are inconvenient for you, contact us to inquire about private lessons. Some courses are arranged on a demand basis; let us know if you'd like to take a class not currently scheduled.

Visit our Contact/Directions page for location details.

All certification courses follow the American Sailing Association Standards. Candidates must attain the stated prerequisites before they may challenge or take the required ASA examination.

We require a minimum of 2 students per certification class. For an additional $200 (above normal fee), we will give private instruction for one student, scheduled at your convenience.

For Custom Sailing Instruction (non-certification), we offer private lessons at $60 per hour (minimum 3 hours), scheduled at your convenience.
